STAND C08
“In 2024, we observed a significant increase in cyberattacks, with a 15% rise compared to the previous year, particularly regarding ransomware attacks. In this context, the Hauts-de-France Region is pleased to have stood alongside its partners, pioneers in cybersecurity, in raising awareness, providing training, and supporting companies in facing new threats. This commitment is notably reflected in the effectiveness of the free assistance service provided by CSIRT Hauts-de-France to SMEs, mid-caps, local authorities, and regional associations, enabling them to better protect themselves and respond effectively in case of an attack. Since 2007, by standing with the organizers of InCyber, the Hauts-de-France Region has played a key role in the emergence of a digital security and trust sector, now recognized for its leadership in Europe.”
Philippe BEAUCHAMPS,
Vice President of the Hauts-de-France Region in charge of business relations, employment, and vocational training
President of CSIRT Hauts-de-France
“The Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole is proud to participate in Forum InCyber 2025 by operating the Hauts-de-France Pavilion alongside the key players of the territory. We are actively working towards strengthening and structuring the cybersecurity ecosystem, notably through our startup incubation and acceleration activities. In doing so, we foster the creation of cybersecurity champions, contributing to making the Hauts-de-France Region a leader in this strategic field. In a context where the NIS 2 Directive is enhancing the security of networks and information systems, we play an essential role in supporting companies in meeting these challenges by helping them improve their resilience and protect their critical infrastructures.”
adds Adrien FATIBENE, Interim Director of Operations at Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole.
In line with its core missions (operating, innovating, training, and mobilizing), the Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole will also participate this year, alongside Forum InCyber, in the 5th edition of the EC2 Challenge. This competition, consisting of seven challenges, will see 25 teams competing over two days (April 1 and 2) and will allow the three participating members from Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole (Camille Desaunois – Cybersecurity Startup Manager, Gabriel Madelaine-Toublanc – Cybersecurity Expert, and Corentin Petrau – Cybersecurity Expert) to deploy their skills and resources, alongside other complementary players.
As a regional cornerstone, the Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole will, during the 2025 edition, guide stakeholders through the local cybersecurity ecosystem, from the protection of critical infrastructures to security innovation, via its flagship format: the Learning Expedition. This offer, available to companies and local authorities throughout the year, is part of its training and mobilization missions. Consequently, Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole will accompany delegations from Quebec, the Netherlands, and Eurocities, as well as Medef Lille Métropole and Entreprises & Cités, to explore the challenges and solutions of the sector with market leaders at an unmissable trade show that brings together the entire ecosystem.
Two Years of a Pioneering Cyber Campus
Operated by EuraTechnologies, initiated and funded by the Hauts-de-France Region and the European Metropolis of Lille, and supported by European FEDER funds, Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole was the first in France to be certified by the National Cyber Campus and was inaugurated during FIC 2023. Two years after its launch, Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole boasts an unprecedented record. A testament to its success, it brings together more than 70 members, has raised awareness among over 1,000 people across the region in 2024, and has organized 60 events. The rise of Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole is also reflected in its support, to date, for 25 startups through the incubation and acceleration programs of EuraTechnologies – a leading startup and innovation hub – making it one of the major cyber incubators in France. Another success factor is its competitive asset: the Cyber Range, which enables companies and local authorities to train in an immersive environment through simulated cyber crisis exercises, helping them to prevent and learn to anticipate future attacks. Thanks to this cutting-edge equipment, 110 professionals from 47 companies and local authorities were trained in cyber crisis management in 2024. Additionally, 100 students from four different schools (École du Numérique, Polytech, University of Lille, Ynov) enhanced their skills with this tool, paving the way for tomorrow’s cybersecurity champions. In 2024, the Cyber Range also served as a training tool for all national gendarmes specializing in cybersecurity. It is an essential tool for training and skill development in a context where cyber threats continue to grow, as evidenced by the 115 incidents managed by CSIRT Hauts-de-France in 2024, a close partner of Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole and hosted in its premises. Nearly 70% of the cases involved companies in the region.
The mobilization of stakeholders around cybersecurity is all the more crucial as the threat increases. The activity of CSIRT Hauts-de-France, the cyberattack response center set up by the Hauts-de-France Region, is a testament to this: since its opening on April 3, 2023, CSIRT Hauts-de-France has handled 248 reports and incidents.
With the Cyber Range, a unique and distinctive asset, Campus Cyber Hauts-de-France Lille Métropole continues its expansion by partnering with Bright Cyde, the cybersecurity entity of AFM (Association Famille Mulliez). This strategic partnership will deploy crisis management exercises and CTF (Capture The Flag) challenges aimed at the technical teams of the various AFM brands, to enhance their preparedness against cyber threats and increase their resilience.
About the Hauts-de-France Region
Pioneers in the field, the Hauts-de-France are a major player in Northern Europe in terms of digital security and trust. Specific support services (awareness-raising, auditing, consulting, training, funding, and incident response) were developed early on to equip companies and local authorities against online crime. With 150 specialized companies, 60 dedicated training programs, and 10 research centers, the cybersecurity sector represents over 7,000 jobs. Hosting FIC since 2007, establishing the first certified territorial cyber campus, launching CSIRT – a response center for SMEs, mid-caps, local authorities, and regional associations – as well as the presence of one of France’s largest cyber incubators, reinforce the European leadership of Hauts-de-France, firmly establishing it as the “Land of Cybersecurity.”
