Rabot Dutilleul, a benchmark player in the construction industry and present across the entire real estate value chain, is teaming up with EuraTechnologies, one of Europe's leading incubators and gas pedals, to organize the ECO-CONSTRUCTION HACKATHON & STARTUP FOUNDERS CONTEST. The competition kicks off on September 27, with the aim of selecting co-founders to create an ambitious new start-up focused on eco-construction.
Rabot Dutilleul has been working for several years to minimize the environmental impacts of its activities, applying its expertise to make a positive, sustainable contribution to its areas of operation and its industry.
Strengthened by this commitment, the independent family-owned construction group has internally developed an approach and a tool called ASAP (As Sustainable As Possible). This aims to maximize the eco-design of buildings and neighborhoods while industrializing the process. This approach integrates social and environmental issues from the project design phase, as well as new technologies, allowing the century-old group to offer sustainable and innovative solutions to its clients.
Using this proven tool, the real estate group now aims to give a team of future co-founders, experienced entrepreneurs, the opportunity to create a new company with the goal of accelerating the transformation of one of the most polluting sectors.
The winning team will have the opportunity to develop their startup in exchange for equity from Rabot Dutilleul and will benefit from acceleration support within EuraTechnologies' PropTech vertical.
The startup incubator and accelerator was chosen by Rabot Dutilleul's innovation team to conceptualize and organize this contest due to its expertise and the strength of its ecosystem. Every year, nearly 1,000 entrepreneurs and project holders apply to its various programs. Created in 2009, EuraTechnologies has thus seen almost 4,000 alumni-entrepreneurs pass through its doors in nearly 15 years.
Rodolphe Deborre, Director of Innovation and Sustainable Development at Rabot Dutilleul, explains: "Our strategy is to be a player in the ecological transition throughout the construction and real estate management value chain, intervening holistically from the conception of our projects. This is what motivates us to propose, inspire, invent, and think differently with our partners. With the support and expertise of EuraTechnologies, we are launching this unique contest, the ECO-CONSTRUCTION HACKATHON & STARTUP FOUNDERS CONTEST, offering a team of audacious entrepreneurs the chance to create an eco-construction-focused startup. We are eager to discover the innovative business ideas that will emerge."
Agnieszka Bogucka, PropTech Program Manager at EuraTechnologies in charge of rolling out the contest, adds: "The ECO-CONSTRUCTION HACKATHON & STARTUP FOUNDERS CONTEST is a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs and sustainability enthusiasts to turn a proven tool into a successful European scale-up. Supporting this original initiative from Rabot Dutilleul, and organizing this contest that fosters innovation and environmental transition, fully aligns with EuraTechnologies' missions. We look forward to collaborating with talented, committed entrepreneurs ready to transform the construction sector."
Organized by EuraTechnologies' PropTech support vertical, this leadership recruitment contest will take place in three stages, culminating in a gala evening where the three finalist teams will present their projects to a panel of experts.
Stage 1 - Problem-Solution Hackathon (September 27-29): Participants will have three days to grasp, challenge, and rethink Rabot Dutilleul's eco-construction solution. At the end of these three days, a preliminary jury will select three teams for the next stage. The Hackathon will be held at EuraTechnologies' PropTech vertical, on its Blanchemaille site in Roubaix.
Stage 2 - Scaling Strategy (September 29 to October 16): The three finalist teams from the Hackathon will have an additional two weeks to build a business model, develop a business plan, and define a solid commercialization strategy.
Stage 3 - Final Pitch and Gala Evening (October 16): During a unique evening at EuraTechnologies in Lille, the three teams will present their final proposals to a panel of experts. The winning team will be announced at the end of the presentations.
