Project Description:
The European project "Open Badges for IT" aims to implement an innovative Franco-Walloon cross-border system to recognize and promote digital skills through Open Badges. These digital badges, already adopted by companies such as IBM, certify skills acquired formally or informally and are easily shareable. They provide clear and verifiable evidence of know-how, soft skills, and experience, whether gained through training, professional experience, or personal activities.
This project addresses the growing demand for specialized IT profiles in Hauts-de-France and Wallonia, two regions where digital technology is a strategic sector. By promoting the use of Open Badges, the project offers a concrete methodology for their implementation and assesses their impact in terms of performance, accessibility, and adoption among diverse groups: entrepreneurs, job seekers, students, and workers.
As the first of its kind to adopt a cross-border approach, "Open Badges for IT" aims to create a true community of IT skills, thereby strengthening competitiveness and economic development in these territories.
